This headline is actually an ad for First Merit Bank. I hadn’t heard of them until I read the clever advertisement in my local newspaper.
The ad copy continues:
” …controversial footage reveals bank employees not only respecting customers, but also supporting their efforts to financially flourish.”
What makes this ad funny is that this is the opposite of what we have come to expect from banks. Most small business owners feel that banks are stifling the recovery by not lending money. They are more of a controlled (or federally owned) monopoly.
Getting great customer service from banks? Now that’s funny. But things are changing a bit. Banks realize that they need to have better customer service if they are going to get back in the good graces of the public…and it is showing.
